News Release

CRASH Japan

Press Release - March 17, 2011 #2
Half a Million Meals Donated

Tokyo, Japan- March 17, 2011- With the establishment of the first CRASH Base Camp, CRASH has been promised two 40-foot containers of much needed food. The containers are filled with enough rice and soy to make more than 500,000 meals — ideal for feeding large groups of people. The much-needed donation comes from Feed the Hungry.

Many other organizations are also sending supplies. Although CRASH has the network to reach those in immediate need, such large donations require significant resources to get from crate to table. CRASH Japan continues to seek funds to ensure the pressing needs of victims are quickly met.

Help FEED THE HUNGRY to partner with CRASH provide much needed help.

THE SURVIVORS NEED HELP – WE ASK YOU TO PRAYERFULLY CONSIDER
HELPING THESE NEEDY PEOPLE

“We’ve had an earthquake followed by fire, then a tsunami, then radiation, and now snow. It’s everything…..”
“'There is nothing left. The world needs to step in…..Why is there no food ?.............”

“The Japanese are too proud to ask, but we need help and we need it now…….”
In times of difficulty, our compassion compels us to help one another. The Japanese are our brothers and sisters. They need our help in whatever manner we can we must/should gather our resources and offer to them who are in dire need at this time. LET US BE MORE HUMAN and MORE CHRISTIAN LIKE... AND FEEL THIS TRAGEDY. RATHER THAN FOCUSING ON THE NEGATIVES WHICH WILL NOT HELP AT ALL. Let us offer our help in any form and try our best to help them.

Dear Japanese brothers and sisters. WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST TO HELP YOU. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.... KEEP MOVING

KCM Partners With Feed the Hungry to Aid Japan

March 18, 2011
Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and the Kenneth Copeland Ministries family of Partners across America and around the world, join our faith and financial resources with the Feed the Hungry organization to bring restoration, healing and hope to the people of Japan. In the wake of the natural disasters that hit Japan a few days ago, people are in need of a number of resources as basic as clean water, food and shelter.

This is our opportunity, as Christ’s ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20), to represent Jesus and His love to the people of Japan. As we read in 1 John 4:12, New Living Translation, “No one has ever seen God, but if we love each other, God lives in us, and His love is brought to full expression in us.” We can live the words of that scripture today.

As we stand with Feed the Hungry, we are helping to respond to this natural disaster by helping local churches and disaster relief teams that are currently on the ground in Japan. Also, financial gifts in the form of Emergency Fund Transfers will provide much needed water, ready-to-eat foods, formula, diapers and other relief aid for immediate distribution to families across that nation.

Here are a few examples of what our partnership as a team of faith will support:

    * Bases to distribute aid already active in Fukushima, North and South Sendai, Minami, Sanrikucho, Morioka and Hachinohe
    * Basic items such as baby food, formula, food, water and blankets
    * Containers of rice and soy meal to provide more than 500,000 meals, supply hygiene kits, and other personal-care items

We invite you to join with us by donating directly to Feed the Hungry to help in this relief work.

Japan Earthquake Update -

Feed The Hungry working together with
(JAG) Japan Assemblies of God
and
CRASH (Christian Relief Assistance Support and Hope)
From the Japan Assemblies of God (JAG) side, Nobunuri, the point man who travelled to Sendai on Sunday to connect w/ the 20 AG churches is on hisway back to Tokyo today.  Nobunuri shared with me that getting quantities of supplies up to Miyagi Prefecture will be a big challenge due to broken roads and fuel rationing.

The report from Ayuka @ JAG HQ is that displaced people/families are migrating to Tokyo from the flood and nuclear evacuated areas.Displacement shelters at schools & public buildings and churches are being set up.

The funds from FTH wired to JAG will be used as follows: 1/3 for baby food, formula & diapers, 1/3 for food & bottled water, and 1/3 for fuel & transportation.  Our first line of relief will be JAG Bible
School/Seminary students distributing supplies in newly development shelters north of Tokyo.

As of last night, Stop Hunger Now verbally donated 4 containers of rice meals for FTH pipeline in Japan; a total of 1.1 million meals.  JAG is working on the clearing process for the first container and has arranged storage space at one of their church facilities.

CRASH, will likely develop into another distribution partner for FTH assets. The group has gathered some good momentum and I speculate that they will develop the connections with the government/military for logistic support in moving relief supplies in quantity to the north.

These people will need our support and prayers!

Please pray also for means of transporting the aid to the affected areas as fuel is rationed to they only allow 10 litres per vehicle which will not be sufficient to make the journey. Also that the paperwork for containers will go through quickly.

Please help us today to cal 0845 519 6025 or donate online at www.feedthehungry.org.uk

Reach out to thousands of lives with God’s compassion and bring comfort to many who have losteverything. Please do what you can today to help reach those who have lost everything.
May God bless you for acting with His compassion.

Japan Earthquake appeal

As of yesterday the death toll from last Friday’s earthquake and Tsunami stands at 3,373 and with 6,737 people reported missing in three prefectures, grave estimates have the final death toll in excess of 10,000 people. Being one of the world’s most densely populated countries on earth, meant that no amount of preparation could truly prevent the tragic loss of life on this scale. Japan is facing an unbearable burden in the near future:
• 9.0 magnitude earthquake struck Friday 2.46pm local time…
• 10m high Tsunami wave…
• Large coastal areas have been submerged…
• Entire villages washed away…
• 100 aftershocks have been experienced…
• 70% chance of more aftershocks higher than 7.0 magnitude in the coming days…
• 3,373 confirmed deaths…
• 6,737 confirmed missing…
• 14.8 million people lived in the five prefectures before the quake and tsunami devastated the area...
• 1.6 million live with 5km of the coast…
• 380,000+ people have been evacuated…
• 500,000+ living in temporary shelters
• 2,852 bridges destroyed…
• 827 roads destroyed…
• 8 railways destroyed…
• 40,000 homes destroyed…
• Government has declared a ”State of Atomic Power Emergency” at Fukushima nuclear power plants…
• The entire county is under enforced rolling blackouts to save power and reduce strain on Nuclear Power Plants…
• Public transport is at a standstill…
• Temperatures dropping to minus one Celsius at night…
• 1.4 million homes have no access to water…
• 1.25 million homes have no access to electricity…
• 3.2 million homes are running out of gas…
FTH will respond through Kanazawa Christ Church in Yokohama Japan under Pastor Yokio Funatsu.
Statistics indicate that less than 1% of Japan are professing Christians, which is why our Organisation’s SOP of a church-to-church is so vitally important now. We must do everything we can to empower the local church to share the gospel in word and in deed. We must make sure than brave men and women who are rendering aid to survivors in Japan are not offering empty sympathies, but hands to help, words to heal and prayers to comfort.
We are sending emergency transfers of funds to buy water, food, blankets, fuel, medicine and another relief items locally through the Kanazawa church and are preparing bulk transportation of food from our FTH Warehouse in the US. We have 150,000 fortified rice and soy meals on standby as soon as we get the Gov clearance to ship and much more is needed to assist in this ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.
I urge you to prayerfully consider supporting our Japan Earthquake Appeal, and give as generously as they can to help a stricken nation.

Water Shortage In Uganda

When my friends in the United States are enduring the freezing cold, in Uganda we are going through a very serious drought, I have not seen this kind of heat and dryness in Uganda in so many years, whether it is because of weather changes I have no idea.
It has been predicted that this drought  will continue till late May this year.
As some of you may know, most places dont have running water and wells are starting to run dry, people are walking more miles and lining up for hours to get some water.
This is also causing faming since most people get food from gardens which are drying up.
For some of us with big programs like school kids who need several hundreds of litres of water daily, this becomes a huge challenge to keep the institutions open, this also includes our building project where lots of water is needed daily. We need prayer for the rains to come in ASAP to help us not fail to keep the School open because of the huge expense. As you can see, we have been buying truck loads of water to help us serve the kids.
Thank God I had built 2 underground tanks to help harvest water from the roof when ever it rains they have helped us store  our water, since there is no rain and the tanks empty, the only choice we have is to buy water on trucks.

Please Pray
